Medical Support Assistant
Summary:

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer and part time experience.
You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
MINIMUM
Qualifications:
GS-4:
2 years above high school OR Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of general experience equivalent.
GS-5:
4 years above high school OR Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks:

Experience:
Interview and assist patients in completing new or updated forms to obtain registration information.
Obtain and verify health records for eligibility information.
Ensure required forms are complete and with signatures.
Collect third party recipient health cards.
Explain the program to the beneficiaries, i.
e.
why Medicare, Medicaid and/or private insurance will be billed for the services they received.
NOTE:
Equivalent combinations of education and experience are qualifying for all grade levels and positions for which both education and experience are acceptable.
General Experience (All positions except Reporting Stenographer, Shorthand Reporter, and Closed Micro-phone Reporter)Progressively responsible clerical, office, or other work that indicates ability to acquire the particular knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of the position to be filled.
